Abstract: Behaviour encompasses the observable actions or responses of individualswhether human, animal, or machineto external stimuli or internal states. These actions can be specific, context-dependent, and either learned or instinctual. Many behaviours are goal- directed, such as seeking food, finding shelter, or engaging in social interactions. While some behaviours, like riding a bike, are acquired through experience, others, like blinking, are biologically hardwired. In humans, behaviour often reflects cognitive abilities, such as problem-solving or effective communication. Similarly, in embodied AI robots, behaviour acts as a tangible expression of underlying intelligence, where actions are adjusted based on real- time sensor data. This talk will examine the relationship between behaviour and intelligence in both humans and robots. It will also cover the development of embodied AI robots capable of navigating and responding to their environments using physical actions, sensor inputs, and human-like expressions, with experimental demonstrations showcased through video.
