1.Objectives
Doctor:The program aims at cultivatingthe all-around qualities of the doctoral candidates, helping them to achieve both academic and moral excellency.
Through the training, doctoral candidates should have a firm grasp of basic theories and systematic, specialized knowledge, be capable of independent scientific research and teaching, gain innovative achievements inMechanical Engineering, demonstrate scientific attitude, and strive to resolve sci-tech difficulties in a rigorous and pragmatic way.
2.Length of Study
Doctor:The full-time scheme of the program lastsat leastfor3years. The duration can be extended to6yearstillthe student is qualified for doctoraldegree.
3.Credits
The Doctor degree program must be well balanced, emphasizing on one or more theoretical or practical aspects of mechanical engineering. At least 88 credits are required to get the Doctor degree. The detailed credit requirements for each modules and thesis work are shown in the following table.

4.Thesis
Doctor:Doctordissertation should be completed under the guidance of supervisors. The research topic and scope need to be identified through literature reading and investigation. Candidates should draw on the strong suits of their supervisors and themselves to make creative achievement in their research field.
