On April 8, 2019, the 123rd anniversary of Xi'an Jiaotong University, iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment was officially sailing in the Innovation Harbour of Western China, as the first research institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University moving into the iHarbour.

At 10:00 am, the "Opening Ceremony and Academic Dayof iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment in Western China" was officially launched. More than 300 people witnessed this historical moment together.

The iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment was the first batch established and stationed among all the research institutes in the university. The curtain of the iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment opened slowly, with the powerful announcement by Maizeng ZHANG, "I announce that the iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment officially settles in the Innovation Harbour", symbolizing that the connotation construction lasting for three years of the iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment steps into a new stage.

Then the International Center for Machinery was unveiled, opening a century of mechanical disciplines and continuing to steadily embark on a new journey that faces the international frontier.

In terms of talent development, acontract was signed by the iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment and the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center, in order to build 3D printing elite classes together. Leaded by cutting-edge and key technologies, they would cultivate high-level talents for engineering in the field of 3D printing by Co-cultivation of school instructors and corporate instructors .

Daniel Ducoff, the Vice President of Case Western Reserve University in the United States, and Professor Tielin SHI, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Mechanical Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, an alumni of Xi'an Jiaotong University, gave speeches respectively.

President Shuguo WANG extended warm congratulations to theiHarbourAcademy of Frontier Equipment for succefully settling in Innovation Harbour. He proposed earnest expectations for the iHarbour Academy of Frontier Equipment :
