About Institute of Design Science and Basic Components
The institute is the main supporting department of the Key Laboratory of Modern Design and Rotor Bearing Systems of the Ministry of Education. The institute focuses on the design needs of high-end machine tools, aviation engines and core basic components such as bearings and rotors to conduct design science and engineering, bearing rotor dynamics, engineering tribology, big data intelligent operation and maintenance. Many high-level talents for the design and manufacturing of high-end equipment and basic components had been cultivated to overcome the bottleneck technology of national major needs. High-level research team composed of national leading scholars, ASME Fellows, and IEEE Fellows has undertaken numerous national key projects such as 973, 863, National Key R&D Program, and National Natural Science Foundation. There are close cooperative relationships with well-known domestic and foreign enterprises such as AVIC, Dongfang Electric, General Electric Group, China Electric Power Academy, China Huadian and Huawei.
